Connected With God’s Love

3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time – Year C

Every moment of our lives is permeated by the Presence of God Who loves and bestows. To live by faith is to learn how to perceive God’s Loving Presence.

Every moment of our lives is a moment of meeting with the Presence that loves us. Time is the sacrament of our encounter with God. From God we receive not only the gift of existence, but also the gift of breath, the gift of friendship, and the gift of each moment of our lives. God’s Presence also reveals that God expects something from us; He wants us to respond to Him by following His will. And what is His will? His will is always our good (not necessarily what makes us feel good, but what is objectively good in God’s order) because God is Love.

Everything that you encounter is connected with God’s love and His desire for your good. He is present in your life, and if you look at each moment in this way, then spontaneous prayer will be born in your heart, very much like the spontaneous prayer of Jesus in the synagogue:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord” ~Luke 1: 18-19.

Yours in Christ,
Father Arthur
