Adult Enrichment

The Adult Enrichment Committee offers both multi-session classes and periodic opportunities to help adults grow in their faith and apply it in their daily lives.  Past offerings have included the Catholicism series, the Great Adventure Bible Study, a funeral tutorial, a biblical walk through the Mass, book club, and movie nights.  The committee also maintains a kiosk in the gathering space with books and CD’s on a variety of subjects concerning the faith.  The AEC is always looking for new members to help program new opportunities for parishioners to grow in their faith!

Eucharistic Miracles Photographic Exhibition

An extraordinary exhibit is coming to Our Lady of the Wayside. The exhibit is a well-documented presentation of Eucharistic miracles recognized by the Catholic Church that have taken place around the world. Displayed will be 160 laminated panels, most presenting a Eucharistic miracle with photos and illustrations complementing the text. The exhibit was created by Blessed Carlo Acutis, a 15-year-old from Milan, Italy, who was beatified on October 10, 2020. In the months before his death from leukemia, he documented Eucharistic miracles around the world and cataloged them all onto a website that he himself created. The website brought about The Vatican Eucharistic Miracles Photographic Exhibition. It was Carlo’s desire that the exhibit would draw others to love the Blessed Sacrament.

At the conclusion of the exhibition, Michael O’Neill, author and EWTN host, will give a presentation on the Eucharistic miracles and Blessed Carlos Acutis. This will take place on March 5 at 7 p.m. in the Church. Afterwards, there will be a book signing in the Gathering Space.

More information, including times for viewing the exhibit, will be announced soon.

That Man Is You

That Man is You! is an interactive men’s program combining the best research from science with the teachings of the Catholic faith and the wisdom of the saints to develop the vision of man fully alive. By honestly addressing the pressures and temptations that men face in our modern culture, That Man is You! seeks to form men who will be capable of transforming homes and society.

Our Lady of the Wayside men and guests meet on Saturday mornings in the Gathering Place. We enjoy breakfast food coffee at 7 am, followed by a video presentation and then small group discussion. The program concludes at 8:30 am.

All men as well as high school or older sons are welcome to attend.

Women of Wayside

Women of Wayside

The Women of Wayside Faith Community is the start of something special at our parish. We are a large community made up of small faith groups. These small groups will grow in faith and support one another as we share the difficulties and joys, challenges and blessings in how God is working in our lives. We hope that in this atmosphere of faith they can go deeper in relationship with God. And, as a result, bring Christ to our corner of the world.

Each group will meet in the Wayside Parish Center once per month on Thursday nights October-May. We will have three levels of evangelization – something for everyone. We are open to drop in “at large” members as well! As we like to say, come when you can, take what you need, and let the Holy Spirit do the rest!

St. Anne Group: this group will take on an introductory Bible study called The Crux that leads us through the basic proclamation of the Gospel and culminates in an invitation to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

St. Monica Group: this group will do a book discussion of This is My Body: A Call to Eucharistic Revival by Bishop Robert Barron. This study will move at the group’s pace. A second book may be possible if we finish quickly.

St. Catherine Group: this group will study Part Two of Fulfilled: Uncovering the Biblical Foundations of Catholicism from Ascension Press (this is a bible study focused on the Old Testament). Study materials will need to be purchased and homework is highly recommended.

We would love for you to be part of this community and to bring a friend with you!  Please email Flo Trunk to get more information & join a group.
