OLW Ministries: Care & Outreach
Ministries are the lifeblood of any great parish and, as we begin to reemerge from a 15-month COVID-induced hibernation period, we are looking to REIGNITE our great Ministries.
Our Lady of the Wayside Parish welcomes you to join our ministry family where you will find an opportunity to give of yourself by helping others in addition to growing personally/spiritually in our faith community. Below is a list of Care & Outreach Ministries. Next week, we’ll feature additional ministries.
Bereavement – Grief Support Group: Provide opportunities to live out the Spiritual Work of Mercy of “comforting the afflicted.” Contact Judy Amberg: jdoor724@att.net.
Meals on Wheels: Deliver meals to the elderly during the month of September. Contact Cy Kabat: cykabat1@aol.com.
Ministry of Care: Tend to the needs of the homebound, hospitalized and nursing home residents by bringing Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist, as well as providing friendly companionship. Contact: Kathy O’Neill: parishnurse@olwparish.org.
P.A.D.S. Shelter Program: Provide hospitality, food and emergency shelter to homeless people from October 1 – April 30 each year. Contact Molly & Mike Wolfe: mollywolfe113@gmail.com or Nancy & Gary Lynk: lynk@wowway.com.
Respect Life: Provide information on current concerns and legislative alerts to parishioners, as well as prayers and other needed support to those affected by life issues. Contact Deacon Tom Corcoran: respectlife@olwparish.org.
Shawl Ministry: Knit and crochet prayer shawls to be given to those who are in need of comfort, emotionally and physically. Contact Kit Simon: simonsews@yahoo.com.
SPREAD: This small faith community facilitates a one-on-one activity, a group spiritual reflection and an agape to foster friendship and religious development for those who have developmental disabilities. Contact Tom Aichele: tfaichele@gmail.com or Beth Ann Finnis: bethann.finis@gmail.com.
St. Marks Food Pantry: Collect and donate food to our sharing parish, St. Marks. Contact Don & Mary Piergalski: dmpier6@yahoo.com.
St. Marks Giving Tree: A Christmas tradition in which parishioners donate gifts for members of our sharing parish, St. Marks. Contact Patty Haase: haaserl@aol.com.
St. Vincent DePaul: Provide emergency assistance, counseling, support and referral services in case of illness, fire, loss of job or other emergencies. Contact Judy & Dave Kendzior: jkendzior@comcast.net.
