CFM Announcements November 2023

Happy Halloween! And of course there’s snow. But that can’t take away from the big events this week. All Hallow’s Eve tonight, All Saints Day tomorrow, and All Souls Day Thursday. Then the cherry on top will be our monthly CFM meeting Friday!

This week we will be discussing Chapter 3 The Breastplate of Righteousness: Holiness vs Self-Absorption.
Please be sure to RSVP to your group leader so that your hosts have a good count for seating and snacks.

What IS Halloween? – from Catholiccompany.com
The word “Halloween” comes from All Hallow’s Eve.
All Hallows Eve is the vigil of All Saints Day—also known as All Hallows Day. The word “hallow” means “holy.” (In the Our Father we pray, “Hallowed be thy name.”)
All Saints Day is a Holy Day of Obligation, and thus a major feast on the Catholic Church’s liturgical calendar.
All Saints Day honors not only the saints in heaven whom we know by name, but also any saints in heaven whose names are unknown.

Please join us Thursday, November 23 at 9:00 am for Mass followed by light refreshments in the Father Mackin Center (middle school gym). All are invited! It’s a wonderful way to start your day of thanks, we hope to see you there!
For those of you who volunteer to bring food, please drop it off in the gym BEFORE Mass.

Be the light,
Katy and Matt Baumgartner
