Scenes & Sounds from OLW Coffee House

Date: April 13, 2024
Time: 6:30 pm

It was a hand clappin’, foot stompin’, musical evening in the Gathering Place last Saturday as Our Lady of the Wayside’s Coffee House was brought back to life. Waysiders and guests turned out for a wide variety of music by performers ranging from young to old (and everything in between).

Performers included:

  • Andrew L. (trombone) and Patrick T. (sousaphone) with Rich Pancratz (keyboards)
  • Isabella Z. (violin set)
  • The Brown Liquor Guitar Group (Zamir Hannon, Neal Loughery, John Loy, Sean Reilly, Jim Sherry, Dave Woods)
  • Kayla & Krista M. (almost acapella, with Zamir Hannon jumping in on guitar and shaker for support)
  • Rich Pancratz (saxophone set)
  • Kelly Trunnell & EXTENDED family (singing a variety of Irish and vintage tunes)
  • John Bartosiak & Kim Bartosiak  (guitar set with Hawaiian music as a kicker)
  • Irish Set (led by Coffee House founders John Bauer and Neal Loughery, with Jim Sherry and Sean Reilly assisting)
  • Touch of John Prine & Jimmy Buffet Tribute (John Loy & Jim Sherry)
  • Tim Twohig & Brad Harris anchoring the event with energy, funk, and fun!

In addition to the fun all had, $550 in donations was raised for Aid for Women pregnancy care centers and maternity homes. Thank you to all who contributed!

Shout outs of gratitude to Tim and Brad for providing the excellent sound system and dialing in the sound all night, to Neal and Maureen Loughery and others who provided food to share, and to the Brown Liquor Guitar Group and CFM for planning, promoting and organizing the evening.

Everyone had fun and there were many requests to make Coffee House a regular Wayside event again. With so many great musicians and vocalists in our parish, this is just a sample of what is possible. If you’d like to perform at a future Coffee House, please email coffeehouse@olwparish.org.
