I want to thank all those who have increased their weekly offering. Since Easter our Sunday collections are averaging 8% ahead of last year. Please continue to show your generosity, it is much needed and appreciated.
A big Thank You to the eighteen men, women and children who participated in our Weed Pulling Party. A couple hours’ work really made a significant impact. Proving once again; ‘many hands make light work’. The weeds are regretting infiltrating our plantings.
In case you missed it, the changes to the Park Street side of the church continue. We recently planted three new Redbud trees. In the years to come they will adorn the side of our church. A fourth tree will be planted in the fall as we continue to revitalize the look of our grand church.
I want to call your attention to the request for additional donations for the Middle School Bathrooms. Since we started this request, we have received approximately $15,000, a long way from our ask of $170,000. For the record, these are not just school bathrooms, these are parish bathrooms – used by anyone attending parish events, picnics, vacation bible school, Oktoberfest, etc. Please, examine your heart and we pray you will want to support our efforts for the good of the parish.
Lastly, today marks the end of a ten-month journey. From a humble conversation and challenge to build a grotto to the blessing of our own Welcoming Mother Grotto. Thank you to all who donated to make our project a success, I hope you are as pleased with how it looks as I am. Your generosity is also what enabled us to update the landscaping on the Park Street side of the church.
