OD Corner: Urgent Appeal
Happy Easter! I pray that you and your families are filled with the Joy of our risen Lord. After the gray and cold days of winter, Easter always delivers the promise that the Lord has risen, and spring is on our doorstep.
You may recall that we ended 2023 on a strong note regarding Sunday offerings. We were up approximately 8% for the last three months of that year.
Things have changed, and I am sorry to report that we have lost that momentum. As compared to 2023, we have experienced a 6% decrease year to date. If you have been monitoring Stewardship numbers in our bulletins, you may have noticed that we have averaged $10,000 or more below our weekly budget. Sunday offerings are how we manage the business side of our parish. Like your own home expenses, we face a constant stream of increases.
In light of our current situation, I ask all OLW parishioners to prayerfully consider increasing your weekly offerings by 10% to help us turn this around. While this will not totally solve all our challenges, it will greatly help.
