Celebrate 70 Fun Fact: First Marriage & First Death

On September 20, 1952, Father Harold O’Hara witnessed the first marriage in our new parish. The ceremony took place in the lovely little [shack] rectory chapel. The bride and groom were Goldia McCarty of Arlington Heights and Charles L. Esser of Des Plaines.
The first parishioner to die in our new parish was Mrs. Mary P. Evans. Requiem Mass was offered by Father O’Hara at St. James Church on October 16, 1952.
