Youth Ministry Update: Sunday, April 25th Reflection, Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction, and Penance

Father Artur and Deacon Paul were blessed with the opportunity to join Youth Ministry on the evening of Sunday, April 25—with Father Artur offering the Sacrament of Penance and Deacon Paul leading the group in a brief reflection and subsequent Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction.

Deacon Paul started his reflection with the question “What do you Want?” and illustrated how, despite what we answered, we all want to live…to live more fully…and to live more fully now and forever.  Knowing this universal, underlying want we all have—we come to find that there is only one source for such a life, for true life.

In chapter six of the Gospel according to John, Jesus himself tells us that “Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.  This is the bread that came down from heaven.  Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.”

This truth was further illustrated through the response of St. Thomas Aquinas, who famously answered such question with “Domine, non nisi Te,” that is “Lord, nothing except You.”  What a moment for our Youth Ministry to receive this truth and express their faith through subsequent Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction—filled with fellowship, joyful songs, earnest prayers, quiet reflection, and quality time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.  Can you imagine time better spent?

Thank you Lord for our youth!  Protect them, bless them, and open their minds to your everlasting love and life, which cannot be obtained anywhere else.

Amen!
