OLW School Gets Creative To Carry On Their Mission Of Forming Our Children!

Posted on March 17, 2020 by Published by
OLW students are e-learning during the school closure. This means that students in 5th thru 8th grade brought their school-issued iPads home at the end of last week. Teachers in the younger grades are using a variety of different educational apps to communicate with parents and share each day’s assignment. Each day of e-learning, teachers send out assignments for students to complete.
OLW was already scheduled to begin spring break Thursday, March19 at 11:50 am, so for this week, it was just three days of learning and next week students and teachers are ‘off.’ The OLW teachers and Principal Mr. Wood are evaluating where improvements and changes can be made. It’s new territory for us as a school and we ask for your prayers!
Here are some resources and websites to share:
The AH Library has many resources for parents and educators, even though they are closed. It can be especially hard to figure how to apply e-learning for very young students. Try Miss Humblebee’s Academy, an award-winning, online curriculum for children preschool through kindergarten, providing strength in core subject areas: math, science and social studies, language and literacy, art and music. Hundreds of fully interactive, guided lessons and over 2,500 activities are available. See all of the options from the Library for online learning: https://www.ahml.info/onlinelearning
You can also follow their social media channels for the best information.

The library also offers thousands of books, movies, music and more to download if you are a cardholder:  https://www.ahml.info/borrow/ebooks
