CALLED TO SERVE! Calling All 5th Through 7th Graders To Be Altar Servers…

Have you ever watched the servers at mass and wondered what it’s like to be up on the altar during Mass? Ever wanted a closer look at what it’s all about?

Well, the altar servers would like to invite you to join our ministry!

We are seeking boys and girls from Our Lady of the Wayside Parish that would like to become more involved in their spiritual life and increase their service to our Parish by serving at Mass. We’ll provide the training. All you have to do is show up with enthusiasm and a heart that is ready to participate in Mass in a new way.

Altar Servers assist at Sunday Liturgies, School Liturgies, Holy Day Liturgies, and some may receive additional voluntary training to assist at weddings and funerals. Altar Servers who are Wayside school students will also be scheduled to serve at the 8:30 am daily Mass once a month. Altar Serving is a ministry, and servers and their families  must make a serious commitment to timely attendance and attention to the schedule.

If you are interested in learning more about this important and awesome ministry, please join us. Training occurs in two parts, each 90 minutes long.

Training, Part 1 will be held on January 13 and 15, and Training, Part 2 will be held on January 22 and 23. You must attend one session from Part 1 and one session from Part 2. All sessions will be 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. in the Church.

Parents are asked to attend the first session with their son or daughter. Important information for parents will be covered at the Part 1 sessions.
