A Look Back at Respect Life Month

For the second year in a row, the OLW Respect Life Ministry scheduled a full month of events — from donuts to donations we not only invited the parish to pray for life through a very meditative novena, we once again attended the March for Life in Palatine and held perpetual adoration in the Gathering Place. We are so thankful to all of our parishioners who took part in these events.

We are so thankful that from October 22-24, Our Lord was attended for all 40 hours creating an unbreakable chain of prayer before His Holy Face. The generosity of our parish was shown through the new items purchased for our monthlong baby shower to help women with unexpected pregnancies through Aid for Women. Thank you to everyone who participated! Palatine’s March for Life was beautiful -many Waysiders joined together with others to march down Northwest Highway and cheer for the sanctity of life!

We are also thankful to our Lord and our Blessed Mother for without them, nothing like this could have been possible. We are truly blessed!

We’d like to ask you to continue to pray for us, our mission, and those who are suffering from the effects of or considering the intentional taking of innocent life. And please pray all for pro-life advocates, like the multiple pro-lifers including 74-year-old Joan Bell, 73-year-old Jean Marshall and 41-year-old Jonathan Darnel who were convicted of FACE violations and face prison time for peacefully protesting and praying against the murder of the unborn. Pray also for an end to unlawful harassment of those who peacefully protest to protect the unborn like Mark Houck, husband, father, Catholic, and pro-lifer, whose house was raided by armed FBI agents early one morning as his family was just waking up, and brought him in for defending his son (interview runs from 11:41 – 25:15).
