Our Lady of the Rosary
In the 16th century, Pope Pius V was having trouble with the Ottoman Turks, who were a real danger to Christians. The Christians and the Turks fought each other at sea. While the battle raged, many people recited the rosary with the special intention of the Christians winning. The Christians believed it was by the Blessed Virgin’s intercession, and now this special feast day is celebrated each October in remembrance.
