Domestic Violence Seminar

An informal seminar on Domestic Violence will be given at  Holy Archangels Parish DVOM in the basement of St. Hubert Church (729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates) on Saturday, September 28 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

The seminar will include speakers, informational material and refreshments. All are welcome.

Presenters:

The Crisis Center – services include a 24-hour crisis hotline, temporary shelter, individual and group counseling, medical assistance, legal assistance, financial assistance, etc.

WINGS – largest domestic violence service provider in Illinois. Provides housing and integrated services to adults and children escaping abuse.

Shelter, Inc. – provides community based, emergency and longer-term housing for children and adolescents who are abused, neglected, dependent or in need of supervision.

Children’s Advocacy Center – a child-focused, trauma-informed nonprofit bringing help, hope and healing to young survivors of abuse or violence and their non-offending family members.

Life Span – provides legal representation, counseling, court advocacy, and immigration legal services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

Journeys The Road Home – works to empower and shelter the homeless and those at risk.

The Archdiocese of Chicago DVOM Groups – headed by Fr. Charles Dahm, O.P.

The Hoffman Estates Police and Fire Depts. – with social workers who handle domestic violence cases.

The Hoffman Estates Health And Human Services Dept. – among other things it offers therapy for people of all ages to help decrease stress in relationships and in life changes.
