Due to the explosive growth of the parish in the 1950s, school enrollment consumed “parish” space (including the temporary church) in the school building, Father O’Hara had no choice but to build the permanent church sooner than anticipated. The decision was made to build the church without completing the interior. Refinements would be completed later, as funds later allowed.
