Isaiah’s Prophecy and Political Implications

Kathleen Miller led a Bible study session where she discussed the political implications of the readings. She highlighted Isaiah’s prophecy about a Persian emperor named Cyrus, who would free the Israelites from Babylon and allow them to return to the Holy Land. In the gospel story, Kathleen discussed Jesus’ response to Jewish leaders about whether it is lawful to pay taxes to Caesar. The second part of his answer has profound implications for us today. Kathleen concluded by inviting people to join a Bible study group at Our Lady of the Wayside.
