Mission Accomplished… We Got Our OOMPAH On!
What a night! By all accounts, the OLW Celebrate 70! Oktoberfest was a huge success. The weather was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious, the beer was cold and refreshing, the two bands (Die Kellerknaben Polka Band followed by The Alright Maybes) kept the energy high, and the camaraderie and sense of OLW community was soooooo enjoyable! At least 320 meals were served. Attendance is estimated to have been between 350-400 enthusiastic festival-goers and volunteers.
Suffice it to say… we definitely got our OOMPAH on!
Congratulations to long-time OLW parishioners, Rosalie (and Robert) Crabbe. They were the big winners of the Celebrate 70! 50/50 Split the Pot Raffle. $15,000 was raised, and they took home $7,500.
Thanks to all who came out to celebrate Oktoberfest and who participated in the 50/50 Raffle. Special thanks to all volunteers, committee members (Erin Berwick, Pat & Mary Jeanne Fitzgerald, Chris & Cathy Darrow, Elizabeth & Cathy Wilk, Trudi Bartakovics, Heather Jackman, Scott Baxendale and Mike Nolan) and food & door prize sponsors. Your tireless dedication to, and generous support of, our parish made this evening a complete success. We couldn’t have done it without you!
