Celebrate 70 Fun Fact: Church Ground Breaking

When temporary church space in OLW School was converted to seven additional classrooms needed for rapidly growing enrollment, Father O’Hara and his loyal parishioners realized that construction of a permanent church was a necessity. There was no alternative. Money was needed to build the additional school classrooms, so Father decided to build the Church exterior completely and but forego finishing the interior until a more advantageous time.
On November 4, 1956, The Very Rev. Msgr. Eugene Mulcahey of Maryville Academy visited OLW to preside over ground-breaking for the new church.
