Youth Ministry Transitions…
Our Director of Youth Ministry is leaving our parish at the end of August. The job is posted with the Archdiocese and is being shared to those who might be interested through various channels. We are making special efforts to continue to serve our high school teens and soon our middle school teens through this important ministry.
It is my pleasure to share with the parish that we have two adult volunteers who have agreed to provide continuity to the high school teen program and revive the 7th-8th grade middle school program.
Thomas (TM) McKenna has volunteered to lead the high school teen program as the Interim High School Youth Minister. TM is an alum of the OLW high school youth ministry and he has been volunteering for 8 years as an adult small group leader for our OLW high school ministry. He was a small group leader during the last youth ministry transition.
Flo Trunk has volunteered to be the Interim Middle School Youth Minister to revive the former middle school ministry. Flo is a former OLW parent of 6, and a former and current OLW 6th grade girls’ volleyball coach. She has served as an adult small group leader for the former OLW middle school ministry as well as high school youth ministry, and chaperoned mission trips for 5 years. Flo will lead the development of the new middle school youth ministry.
Stay tuned for registration information, a schedule, and a date for a parent meeting for the high school youth ministry. More information will be communicated soon about the schedule and structure for the new middle school youth ministry.
May the light of God’s love surround you always,
Danielle Pitzer
Director of Lifelong Faith Formation
