Free Screening: “Trauma Comes Home”

Posted on July 20, 2023 by Published by

Military Outreach USA is sponsoring the premier showing in the Chicago area of “Trauma Comes Home.” This documentary film addresses the effects of the so-called “invisible” wounds of service, PTSD and Moral Injury, on our military active duty, Reservists, National Guard, Veterans, First Responders and their families. These insidious conditions are among the significant causes of the present high suicide rate in our military community.

This documentary completes a trilogy of films produced by Crosswinds Foundation of Birmingham, AL. a faith-based non-profit partner of Military Outreach USA. The first film, “Invisible Scars,” dealt with PTSD and the second, “Honoring the Code,” with Moral Injury.

Trauma Comes Home specifically addresses the impact on the families, a subject presently overlooked in the media and research material. We hope to help fill that gap by educating the public and encouraging those suffering with these illnesses and their loved ones by providing education, hope, and examples of assistance available.
