Celebrate 70 Fun Fact: Holy Name Society
OLW’s Holy Name Society was organized on August 18, 1952. John J. Barrett was appointed charter president. As a departure from evening meetings, Fr. Harold T. O’Hara, pastor and spiritual advisor, held meetings at the monthly communion breakfast. Each breakfast meeting featured a short talk on a topic of interest from a prominent speaker.

Rev. Harold T. O’Hara, pastor of our Lady of the Wayside church, Arlington Heights, describes blue prints of the proposed new parish school to a group of Holy Name Society members. Funds for the erection of the building were supplemented by the parish’s card party and dance held at the Conrad Hilton Hotel, Chicago, April 17, 1953.
