Celebrate Father Brady’s 62 Years of Priesthood: Sunday @7:30 am Mass
Monday, May 1, marked Father Daniel Brady’s 62nd Anniversary of service to God and His flock as a Roman Catholic Priest! To celebrate this momentous occasion, Father Brady will concelebrate the 7:30 am Mass this Sunday, May 7. Please attend if you can.
Fr. Dan was ordained by Albert Cardinal Meyer on May 1, 1961, in an ordination class of 30 priests. “There are only 3 of us left. I guess God forgot about us,” he quipped.
Fr. Brady served as associate pastor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Belmont Avenue (1961-66); Divine Providence, Westchester (1966-73); Holy Trinity, Wolcott Avenue (1973-77); and as pastor of Saints Peter and Paul (1977-85). Brady served as administrator at St. Patricia, Hickory Hills (1985) and St. Joseph, Saginaw Avenue (1983-85) and as pastor at St. Christopher, Midlothian (1985-91), and St. Cecilia (1991-2005). He is pastor emeritus at St. Cecilia and has been Our Lady of the Wayside’s retired priest in residence since 2005.
Our Lady of the Wayside has been truly blessed by his presence, faith, wisdom, smile, twinkle in his eye, and Irish charm for more than a decade.
Bravo Father! You are a true disciple of Jesus Christ, and a #differencemaker in our Parish.
May Our Lord’s choicest blessings be upon you always!
