Celebrate 70 Fun Fact: Temporary Church

Father O’Hara had a vision to celebrate Christmas Mass in a temporary church in OLW School, even though construction had only began that summer. Contractors stepped up their work and, on Christmas Eve, Father O’Hara, the Altar Committee and a squad of Holy Name men transformed the large dusty school room into a beautiful church.
The first mass was indeed celebrated on December 25, 1953 – just seven short months after ground was broken!
