Giving Tree: Help Brighten Christmas for Families in Need

Again this year, OLW parish can make a difference for individuals and families of Our Lady of Unity /St. Mark parish who are in such great need. Families are struggling even more this year than past years. The need for warm clothes and food continues.

Each year, Our Lady of Unity/St. Mark’s outreach program provides us with a list of families and individuals of all ages that need our help. We place an envelope on the Giving Tree for each person, and one for each family. The family envelope is Gold and is to provide groceries for the family. For many of these families, Wayside’s contribution will be the only material gifts that they receive.

We seek to help make the holiday special for children and adults, and provide groceries for families’ traditional holiday meals. We structured our method of giving as follows: We ask that your gift be provided in the form of a gift card or check. We will use the checks to purchase gift cards through our school. Gift cards will allow parents to purchase exactly what their children want OR need. Gift cards for adults may provide for the purchase of much-needed warm sweaters or gloves. We also hope to provide gift cards for groceries – a gift for the entire family.

Please stop by the Giving Trees at the back of church and take an envelope. Each represents and individual or family that is in need of our help. You are welcome to provide gifts for more than one person. Please return your gift envelope no later than December 11, 2022. This allows time for our gifts to be delivered and distributed, and for families time to shop.
