District 214 Gives Back: An Evening Honoring Our Veterans
Dear Veterans,
It would be our privilege if you are able to join us for a special event on April 26: District 214 Gives Back: An Evening Honoring Our Veterans.
This community event will begin with a reception and Portrait of a Soldier art exhibit from 6 to 7 p.m. in the District 214 Fieldhouse of the Forest View Educational Center in Arlington Heights.
The ceremony – from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. – will feature a keynote address by former Gov. Pat Quinn and dedication of a Community Center built by District 214 students for the Golden Isles Veterans Village Initiative in Georgia. As you may know, this is a transitional community comprising 30 single-occupant tiny homes and a community center where residents can enjoy camaraderie with fellow veterans.
In addition to meeting students involved in the Community Center build, you will have an opportunity to meet District 214 students across multiple career pathways including Agriculture, Architecture, Art, Human and Public Services, Health Sciences, Law, and Multimedia Communications. You will be able to interact with myriad veterans organizations, and you will be able to engage with members of our very own Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC).
We hope you can join us. To attend, RSVP by Friday, April 22nd to Dawn Czyzewski, Assistant to the Director of Academic Programs and Pathways, at either 847-718-7670 orĀ dawn.czyzewski@d214.org
Forest View Educational Center is located at 2121 South Goebbert Road in Arlington Heights.
Sincerely,
