ExpandingTalents at OLW School

Check out the talents of our students as they learn to draw self portraits in art class.

4th graders were creating self-portraits in a style of their choosing. They could use their iPads to take a selfie to help them get their features just right.

5th graders recently learned about Picasso’s split plane technique and had to create their self-portrait in that style.

6th graders recently finished a Social Studies unit on River Valley Civilizations, so in art class they were tasked with making their self portraits look like an Egyptian painting. Egypt was part of the social studies unit so there was a good overlap between the two curriculum subjects.

7th graders studied the Mona Lisa in art class and then were asked to create a Mona Lisa portrait but with their face instead.
