  • 4 pm, 1st through 4th grade classes meet
  • 7 pm, 7th and 8th grade classes meet – Homily Eval #3 Due Grade 8 ONLY
• Thursday, December 9, 6:30 pm, Practice for First Reconciliation – church
• Saturday, December 11, 1 pm, First Reconciliation Prayer Service – church
• Sunday, December 12, Third Sunday of Advent
• Sunday, December 12, 10:30 am Home Study Family Group Meeting – Multi-Purpose Room

The Second Sunday of Advent: The Candle of Faith

As we light the second candle, representing faith, we remember the humble living conditions into which Jesus was born. Because there was no place in Bethlehem for Mary and Joseph to lay their heads, they made their home in a stable and placed Jesus in a manger when he was born. As you light the candle of faith this week, say this prayer: God of power and mercy open our hearts in welcome. Remove the things that hinder us from receiving Christ with joy so that we may share his wisdom and become one with him when he comes in glory, for he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
