Eagle Scout to Create OLW Perennial Shade Garden

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

My name is Jimmy Doherty. I am a Life Scout in Our Lady of the Wayside Parish Troop 161 and a junior at Saint Viator High School. I am currently planning my Eagle Scout project, and chose to benefit Our Lady of the Wayside because I attended the school for nine years, graduating in 2019. OLW has been my parish since birth.

My project will consist of creating a perennial shade garden on the north side of the Parish Center, adjacent to the playground. This will help beautify our parish grounds and provide parishioners with a place to appreciate nature. I am seeking donations to fund the purchase of materials required for the project. If enough funds are raised, the project will include a bench in the garden area. All funds raised will be applied directly to this project. Any donation is appreciated.

Please make your check out to Boy Scout Troop 161 and drop it off at the Parish Center by Wednesday, August 11th. Parish Center hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
