Director of Lifelong Faith Formation
Earlier this year, the Archdiocese informed our parish that we will be participating in the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Renew My Church program. An integral element of this initiative is faith formation – helping both our children and adults know the teachings of the faith, encounter Jesus Christ, and deepen their commitment to His Church.
To this end, the Renew my Church Program entails transforming the director of religious education role into a broader education and faith formation position known as Director of Lifelong Faith Formation. This revised role will address the ever-increasing and pressing need to educate not only our children but also youth, young adults, and families in the faith and equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary to grow in their relationship with Christ and remain committed to responding to and living out His call.
Like many other parishes within the Archdiocese of Chicago, Our Lady of the Wayside has initiated a search for a Director of Lifelong Faith Formation who will work with Father Marat and other members of the pastoral and school staffs to discern, design, and implement religious education, catechesis, and faith formation initiatives for all members of our parish, from children through adults. We are hopeful about this structural change and are praying that it will bear much spiritual fruit by having a positive impact on our children, young adults, families, parish, and the world.
