Outdoor Family Mass: Registration NOW OPEN!
The excitement builds…
We’re happy to announce that plans for Our Lady of the Wayside’s Outdoor Family Mass of Joy and Thanksgiving — to take place in our parking lot on Pentecost Sunday, May 23 at 11:30 am — are progressing nicely. Our canopies have arrived, we’re working on a sound system for the mass, liturgy and music planning are underway, CFM, OLW School, the Religious Education Program, Youth Ministry, and other groups/individuals have generously volunteered assistance with setup, teardown and Mass participation.
And… Mass Registration is NOW OPEN! We’d appreciate your cooperation with registration so we can gain an accurate sense of how many parishioners to expect. This will influence the number of volunteers we’ll have on hand, and how to best position the altar, our canopies, etc.

As a reminder, there will be two large canopies with socially distanced chairs for those requiring shade. Families wishing to sit together are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on. Unless rules change with the State of Illinois and/or the Archdiocese, facemask usage and safe social distancing will apply. Unlike indoor masses, singing at this outdoor mass (with masks) will be encouraged. This is a mass of joy and thanksgiving after all!
