Youth Ministry Update: Camp Hope Cancelled

Dear Middle School Families,

As you know from the promotional content we have been sending out, the Youth Ministers of St. Gall, Our Lady of the Wayside, St. Mary Sycamore, and St. Catherine of Siena have been planning a new day camp called Camp HOPE on June 9-11. We very much WANT to provide opportunities for our junior high youth to grow closer to God this summer, but we are saddened that we are not able to at this time. After much prayer, discernment, and re-evaluation we have made the tough decision NOT to hold camp this year.

There were a number of reasons that factored into our decision, not the least of which were the COVID restrictions that are (and are anticipated to still be) in place. Please know that we are trying very hard to provide spiritual nourishment for your children in the midst of this pandemic. Even though we cannot hold Camp Hope this summer, please watch for possible events that Wayside may provide for middle schoolers over the summer and in the fall. If you have already signed up and provided the deposit, the parish youth minister will be in touch with you to facilitate a complete refund. We hope that you all have a great summer. We HOPE that we will be able to gather again soon and that you will be there with us!
