Music Ministry Update: Good News
I am very pleased to inform you that beginning on Palm Sunday we will have our cantors return to our weekend and Holy Day celebrations. Their role will not be to inspire congregational singing but rather to sing the hymns and songs as a soloist on behalf of all of us. I know this is contrary to their customary role but is necessary for the time being As soon as it is determined by the science and the Archdiocese of Chicago that we can once again sing as a community of faith as we once did we will make that transition and you will see hymnals return to the pews.
I know not singing at church has kind of a “desert” experience in some ways but I promise that as soon as it is safe we will return to robust singing as a community! We need to acknowledge and thank our team of talented instrumental musicians who have been so faithful and generous in their participation at all of our Masses since we resumed in-person attendance last May. Your presence has enhanced our liturgies in a very special way during these challenging times. Our parish community is very blessed to have such talent and skill and all of you have generously and faithfully shared them. Thank you all!
I will keep you informed of any further developments as they impact our sung worship.

Director of Music
