School Robotics Team Advances to State Tournament!
Congratulations to Our Lady of the Wayside’s 7th grade girls’ Robotics Team – the Coding Cats – for advancing to to the State Tournament!!!
The CodingCats team did well in each category: robot runs, innovation project, robot design, and core values. They also won the “Core Values – Finalist” award. Closing ceremonies will be April 24 and they will submit their tournament videos in late March or April. The CodingCats Team: Claire Bauer, Maggie Berwick, Erin Lynch, Megan Newell, Katie Strzyzynki, Grace Trunnell, and Annie Utech.
The 6th grade co-ed team – The Wild Gears – won the “Rising Stars” award (which basically is 1st place for rookie teams). This is the same award the CodingCats won last year as a rookie team. The Wild Gears Team: Sean Allen, Ian Bauer, Matthew Hervas, Elizabeth Schermerhorn, and Anna Stuber.
We have two other Robotics teams:
MechaniCats – 8th grade co-ed team: Billy Allen, Michael Bauer, Avery Brooks, Leah Collins, Marco Hervas, Charlie Hoeper, Lucy Jochaniewicz, and Ainslie McKenna.
WildGears – 7th grade boys’ team: Jake Bondy, Luke Brommelsiek, Nicholas Nicholadis, Ben Stuber.
