An Evening of Awareness: Discussing Mental Health
Mary Seat of Wisdom Parish presents an evening on supporting people experiencing mental illnesses and their families.
In any given year 1 in 5 people will experience a mental health condition. For 1 in 25 it will be severe and persistent. In 2020 the number of people experiencing mild or severe mental illnesses is dramatically on the rise.
The evening presentation at Mary Seat of Wisdom will discuss how we as people of faith find support in the church and in the community for ourselves and for those we love. The evening will give an overview of mental illness, how spirituality plays a role in mental health, how mental illness affects the family and where are the community resources for getting help.
