Vatican Appoints Three Auxiliary Bishops For Archdiocese of Chicago

Posted on September 11, 2020 by Published by

Today, the Vatican announced that Pope Francis has appointed three new auxiliary bishops for the Archdiocese of Chicago: Bishops-elect Kevin M. Birmingham, Jeffrey S. Grob and Robert J. Lombardo, CFR.

Bishop-elect Grob — whom Father Arthur served with while Judicial Vicar of the Marriage Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Chicago — will serve as the episcopal vicar of Vicariate I, which includes Our Lady of the Wayside Parish.

“Bishop-elect Grob’s appointment is great news for our Archdiocese, our Vicariate and for Our Lady of the Wayside,” father Arthur shared [note: with a big smile] following 8:30 am mass today.  “I would like to Congratulate him and Bishops-elect Birmingham and Lombardo on their appointments, and thank our Holy Father for his great gift to our Archdiocese,” he added.

The Holy Spirit shines His light on, and blesses, us all.  Our Lady of the Wayside, pray for us, and for our new Bishops-elect!
