Operations Director Update

As many of you know, Our Lady of the Wayside is in the process of searching for an Operations Director. This position differs from, but is similar to, the Business Manager position formerly held by Jim Liput. While a Business Manager focuses on control, an Operations Director focuses on control and the broader role of providing and maintaining parish assets in order to make them available for evangelization, liturgy and the school. Therefore, communication and collegiality are two key skills we are looking for in the ideal Operations Director candidate.

In our search for the candidate for this position, the committee is following archdiocesan guidelines and has posted the job on both the parish and archdiocesan websites. The search committee consists of two deacons (both with financial and non-profit experience), two school parents (one a lawyer and the other an operations professional) and two members of the Finance Committee (an engineer and a banker with finance experience). In addition, the Committee has consulted with an Operations Director from another parish and keeps the school principal informed.

We have met with several strong candidates and are in the process of making a decision. Keep our search in your prayers so that we choose the candidate most qualified to help Our Lady of the Wayside move from Maintenance to Mission as we focus on evangelization and the school.
