URGENT! The Great Our Lady of the Wayside Reopening is HERE! Volunteers Urgently Needed!
Fr. Artur Marat and the Parish Pastoral Council are delighted to announce the long-awaited, much-anticipated Our Lady of the Wayside Church Great Reopening. Our goal is to reopen the church for limited sacramental services and prayer in early June, with the intention of a full reopening later this summer.
NOW’s the Time to Be a Difference-maker!
To reopen OLW’s doors and meet Archdiocesan congregant safety guidelines, your unique volunteer assistance is critically needed to prepare the church, manage services and clean before and after every service. Volunteer teams will include:
- Set-Up Team: Ensures supplies for each sacramental celebration are in place, entrances and exits are clearly marked, windows are open, restrooms are stocked, hand sanitizers are available and pew seating is marked
- Greeting Team: Welcomes congregants and manages seating flow, confirms all are wearing masks and use hand sanitizer upon entering, and do not enter the church if ill
- Disinfecting Team: Sanitizes essential and high-traffic areas before and after each service. Cleaning supplies and check-lists will be provided
If you are in good health, not in a high-risk group and can volunteer for one service a week (about one hour), we would love (need!) for you to join our parish Great Reopening Team. Volunteers under age 18 must have parental permission and may not serve as Greeters. Those who are 65+ years old must be in excellent health and aware of the risks inherent to those in their age group.
To volunteer, please sign up by June 6 on our SignUpGenius site at: https://bit.ly/2THaMhw. A team leader will contact you to set a service schedule that works for you.
Keep watch for more details on the Great Reopening. Everyone is welcome and needed to make the reopening possible.
Thank you!
