Updated Information on REP Classes Due to the Corona Virus

Dear REP Families:

Sister Adrienne, Sister Joan and Louise pray that all our families and their loved ones are staying well and continuing to pray for a solution to this pandemic.We realize how hard this has been for so many. Please be assured that our daily prayers remember the many families and their sacrifice in this trying and difficult time.

As the presidential order to extend social distancing till April 30 has been issued, and the numbers of those affected by this disease increases, we will not be returning to REP classes this year. We ask that you please continue to work with the children in their religion textbooks. We also ask, that as a family, you share in the Mass by tuning into channel 7 (station determined by your cable package) on Sunday Mornings at 9:30 for the Mass live streamed from Holy Name Cathedral with Cardinal Cupich. It is extremely important to continue to foster the faith in our young children and teens. Since they are now confined to their homes and no longer have the options of the various sports claiming their outside time, all are presented an opportunity to attend Mass as a family by watching the weekly Mass.

We will reschedule Confirmation and the First Communion once information from the Archdiocese is received regarding Confirmation, and the Bishop’s schedule or if alternate arrangements will be made. We will plan First Communion Masses once there is enough information in place as to when we can gather as a community and what the timing for the Masses will be We have received questions in regards to these sacraments, but at the present time there is not enough information to make decisions.

While this year has ended not as planned, we are working on schedules and dates for the new year of REP and last week have mailed the registration paperwork out to families who have maintained a zero balance in the current year. Please look for the mailing and return the paperwork. If you are in doubt as to if there is a balance, or do not receive the registration forms, kindly send an email to repsecretary@olwparish.org and Mrs.Dickey will respond as she works from home.
