The Women’s Center of Chicago is Looking for Help!
During this holy season of Lent, we contemplate the agony and death of Jesus, but we also think joyfully of His resurrection. Similarly, many women in unplanned pregnancies are troubled and sad. They come to The Women’s Center and receive help, counseling and prayers. After they give birth they are filled with joy when they cradle their baby in their arms.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: at our Cicero Ave. office-substitute and on-call (flexible hours are avail-able) for our lobby reception area; to sort donated items and assist clients in our Family Room; help with mailings and baby bottle projects; bilingual who are conversational in Spanish to help in special areas; male volunteers to assist with baby furniture donations. A receptionist is needed Tuesdays and Wednesdays at our Evergreen Park office. For more info on these volunteer roles, call us at 708-320-4066.
SEEKING FAMILY ROOM DONATIONS! We need:
- 5 infant car seats for 20 to 40 lb., (by law all car seats must be less than 7 years old),
- 4 toddler beds,
- 3 single strollers,
- 4 cribs,
- 4 dressers,
- 3 bouncers,
- 3 exersaucers and
- 4 baby swings.
- Also needed are:
- diapers in sizes 4, 5 and 6 only,
- all sizes of pull ups,
- baby food, and
- all brands of formula (in date),
- winter and summer clothes in girls sizes 24 months, 2, 3, and 4 and boys in sizes 7 and 8.
These items cannot be picked up unless accompanied by baby furniture.
