FAREWELL AND GOOD LUCK FATHER VINOD!

Posted on December 21, 2019 by Published by

Dear Friends in Jesus Christ,

It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that I will be leaving Our Lady of the Wayside Parish very soon to begin as an assistant in Jacksonville, Florida, in the Diocese of St. Augustine.

The reason for this sudden move is because of visa and immigration policies in my home diocese in Warrangal, India, and the Archdiocese of Chicago.

I would like to thank the officials of the Archdiocese of Chicago who appointed me as the Associate Pastor of Our Lady of the Wayside Church.

I especially want to thank former pastor, Father Ed Fialkowski, for his kindness, assistance and hospitality, and also Father Bart Winters, who has been very helpful and gracious.

In a very special way, I would like to thank all OLW parishioners, families, staff members and each of you who has supported me in so many ways and whom I now consider friends.

I really appreciate the time I spent with so many of you on both a professional and personal level. I have learned a lot about the unique qualities and aspects of our parish – of your parish.

All of my experiences at OLW will certainly help me become a better priest in the future.

December 29 will be my last working day at Our Lady of the Wayside.

To each and every one of you, I offer a big “Thank You” for your love, support and friendship over the past year.

Let us pray for each other to continue the mission of Christ as His disciples.  God Bless each of you, and Merry Christmas!

Father Vinod Kumar Nagothu

Father will be celebrating his last Mass at Wayside on December 29th at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow in the Gathering Place. Please stop by and wish him well.
