A WORD FROM OUR NEW ADMINISTRATOR, REV. BART WINTERS!
Dear People of Our Lady of the Wayside,
Last weekend St. Alphonsus Parish in Chicago celebrated Oktoberfest. A young man at the event approached me and aid, “I heard that you’ve been assigned to Our Lady of the Wayside.” When I acknowledged that, he continued, “I was born and raised there. It is a great parish. You will love it.” I was grateful for his warm encouragement.
By way of introduction, I was ordained a priest in 1983 and have served in a variety of assignments: associate pastor at St. Nicholas in Evanston, faculty member at Mundelein Seminary, pastor of St. Gregory the Great and, most recently, associate pastor at St. Alphonsus. I also served at two Catholic nonprofits: Alexian Brothers Bonaventure House and Marillac St. Vincent Family Services.
I am grateful to Cardinal Cupich for appointing me administrator here at Our Lady of the Wayside and I look forward to getting to know you and becoming part of this community. I trust that the young man at Oktoberfest was correct and that I will love it here!
Sincerely,
Rev. Bart Winters
