‘HOLE-IN-ONE’ HIGHLIGHTS OLW PASTOR’S MASTERS GOLF TOURNAMENT
One of the rarest of all golf accomplishments – a hole-in-one – was one of the highlights of the 5th Annual OLW Pastor’s Masters Golf Outing on Friday, July 19. Men out-numbered women 4-1, but the hole-in-one performance by Julie Cleary made the women’s presence very evident!
Nearly 50 golfers participated in the tournament, held for the first time at Arlington Lakes Golf Club, actually within the boundaries of OLW parish and almost within eyesight, except for the fully leafed trees and buildings surrounding Northwest Community Hospital. The 95-degree heat did not dampen the enthusiasm of the golfers!
OLW Pastor Father Ed Fialkowski, usually a participant, did not play, but did attend and helped present awards at the post-tournament dinner at the Arlington Lakes Club House. He was joined by Father Dan Brady and Deacon Tom Corcoran and a number of other “non-golfers” who joined the post tournament revelry.
