Fundraiser Dinner Dance for our Friends at SPRED!
SPRED is an agency of the Archdiocese of Chicago for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The
goal is to make it possible for each parish to welcome our Friends into a SPRED group, where they would become prepared to participate in the liturgical life of their parish.
Our Lady of the Wayside (OLW) has formed a small faith SPRED community comprised of 14 persons: 8 Catechists with 6 Friends, aged 22 plus. This ministry ensures a personal experience for all, a welcoming space, the bonds of friendship, the proclamation the WORD, and inclusion in the sacramental life of the parish essential for growth in faith. OLW Catechists include: John Birmingham, Liam Brady, Zamir Hannon, Malinda Kesteloot, Mark Staker, Beth Ann Finis, Maureen Loughery, and Tom Aichele.
On Sunday, April 28th, Mamre, Inc., a fundraising arm of SPRED, is hosting their Annual Dinner Dance at the Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. Our SPRED community would like to participate in this fun-filled evening of dining and dancing to the music of a live band. The event cost is $65 per person.
T h e OLW SPRED Catechists are looking for people who would like to sponsor our FRIENDS, so they can share in this delightful evening. During the event there will be raffle tickets and a $500 cash prize. Anything you are able to contribute to the Dinner Dance fund to support the SPRED ministry and our FRIENDS would be greatly appreciated. Everyone wishing to attend the Dinner Dance is welcome.
