Emily Holum Blood Drive Record Year!
NEARLY 100 OLW PARISHIONERS participated in Emily Holum Blood Drive. With still a week to go (as of the beginning of this week) with the 2019 edition of the Emily Holum Memorial Blood Drive, it seems certain that a record number of contributors will have joined the effort to honor the six year-old OLW parishioner who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at the age of four and died two years later.
Her parents created the blood drive in her honor and this year was the 12th consecutive year OLW parishioners
and others have participated. While most of the donations were made in the Father Mackin Center Sunday, parishioners had the opportunity to make donations during the week. OLW Nurse Kathy O’Neill said it seemed certain a new record would be set.
