CFM Announcements Special March 17, 2020

We hope you are all doing well. We had 3 events left on the CFM calendar and they are all being canceled/postponed until further notice.

1. March 23 Family Game Night in Gathering Space – This event will be canceled.

2. April 3 Monthly Meeting – Postponed: At this point, I don’t feel comfortable asking hosts to host, members to gather, etc., even though all of our small groups are under the group size some of the guidelines are advising against happening. We may look to reschedule our final CFM meeting to a Friday in May, but I think there is too much uncertainty to commit to that at this time.

3. April 19 Spring Party – Postponed/Canceled: Especially in the event of the order to close all restaurants and the large group size, we will not be having the event on Sunday, April 19. We may have a first-ever CFM Summer Party, but again, still too early to tell.

However, even though the rest of the CFM events for this year are canceled, please don’t let this be the end of CFM for the year. We are still a great Christian Family.

Many of us are going to be going through a lot of difficult times between the uncertainty of actions required to contain the spread of the virus, canceling of school, changes in job requirements and working arrangements, shortages of necessities, etc.

Please continue to look out for each other. Keep in touch with your Christian Family to see how we can support each other. If you have any needs or requests, please let us know so that we can work as a group to help each other out.

If you are able to help, please consider participating in a Local Food Drive. The attachment details a local drive being organized by CFM and the Loys. In short, drop-offs are on the Loy’s porch (New Address is 12 N. Lincoln Lane) until the 24th. The donations will go to Catholic Charities in Des Plaines. The attachment includes more details and a list of the most-needed items.

“Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.” – Luke 6:38

Further, without the regular seeing of each other in common spaces (stores, commutes, Mass) being curtailed, I encourage everyone to make an extra effort to reach out to each other by other means. FaceTime, Skype, or simple phone calls to check in go a long way! Try calling a different friend daily.

Thank you,
John and Christina Ourednik
