October 2019 Meeting
We look forward to our second meeting this Friday. We will cover:
Chapter 2: Caregiving: The Job That Never Ends
This Friday, October 4 is our second CFM meeting. Please review the chapter and reflect on the Observe, Judge and Act pieces of the reading.
The Leader’s Meeting will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the Gathering Space in order to get the Leader Couples to the host homes by 8:00 p.m. to start the group meetings by 8:15 p.m. We know that babysitters are used by many of our members, and we want to get everyone home in time to meet those curfews and get the sitters home on time.
Thank you to the Piergalski Group for putting together a great Lasagna Dinner. It was a great kick-off to the new CFM Year.
Also thank you to to the Colgan Family for participating in the KofC ID Drive by collecting money. OLW had 7 total participants and raised over $450 in a few quick hours distributing Tootsie Rolls last month.
Evening of Action and Reflection, Saturday, November 2 after 5 pm Mass
Please make plans to attend our second CFM event of the year. This is a family event. We are planning on having a dinner at the OLW Gym after the 5 pm Mass. After dinner, we will cover instructions for two of the service projects (Project Linus and Preparation of Cards for Veterans) that are designed to be kid-friendly. We also have two speakers lined up that will be presenting on ‘Service through Christ’ both in our local area and around the world.
During the meeting, we will look for a soft-commitment for initial planning purposes. This is an outstanding opportunity to invite any non-CFM families to attend this event.
Thanks to the Leigh group for hosting.
NOTE: The Feed My Starving Children Event will not take place on November 2. We will reschedule shortly.
Training for New Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers – Saturday 10/19, 9-noon at St. James.
Deacons Live!: Adult Enrichment offers a series of presentations, First one by Deacon Paul Onishuck on 10/7 at 7pm in the Gathering Space.
