OLW CFM Second Meeting: Friday, October 5th, at 8:00 P.M.
This Friday, October 5th is the date for our second CFM meeting for the year. The reading for this month is Chapter 2, Forming Our Families to Be Disciples. Please take time to review the chapter and reflect on the Observe, Judge and Act pieces of the reading.
The Leader’s Meeting will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the Gathering Place in order to get the Leader Couples to the host homes by 8:00 p.m. to start the group meetings by 8:15 p.m. We know that babysitters are used by many of our members, and we want to get everyone home in time to meet those curfews and get the sitters home on time.
Feed My Starving Children
Saturday November 3. A great family event for everyone 5 years and older that can make a difference in the life of a starving child. It takes just 2 hours. See attached flyer for details.
CFM Coffee & Donuts Hosting
Thank you to the Trunk group who will host coffee & donuts after Masses on October 21.
Coffee & Donuts Ministry Needs your Help!
Our longtime Coffee & Donuts Ministry coordinators, Teresa and Glen Stewart have left Illinois for greener pastures, and we have a new coordinator who’s seeking help to continue the ministry. We’ll continue to recruit ministries to take their turn serving the donuts but we’re looking for couples/individuals/families who are willing to rotate set-up/supervision/clean-up on a regular basis. Ongoing Group Action- St. Mark’s Collection & Delivery
The Thornton group is up for Sunday, October 14th monthly collection for St. Mark’s Food Pantry and the delivery to St. Marks which will take place on October 20. Sign up will be provide at your meeting. Please remember to bring in non-perishable food items Sunday the 14th between 8:00 am and noon.
Women’s Welcome Retreat (CHRP 2.0)
We invite all women of OLW who are seeking to enrich their faith journey for a weekend of spiritual renewal on November 3-4. Please see the attached Welcome Flyer/Registration Form.
Woman at the Well
All women are invited to attend the next Women at the Well gathering for fellowship and a light breakfast on Saturday morning, October 20. We’ve invited Sister Betty Smigla, S.P. and Marlene Heyes of St. Cletus Parish in LaGrange to talk about their work in the Kolbe House Jail Ministry serving individuals and families affected by the criminal justice system.
