CFM Announcements January 2022

Happy New Year, CFM Family!

We’re optimistic for the good fortune 2022 is sure to bring.

Meeting Five

Our fifth meeting is scheduled this Friday, January 7 at 8 PM.  Please take some time to familiarize yourselves with Chapter 5: I’m Not Perfect, You’re Not perfect, including the Observe, Judge and Act sections.

Let’s continue to make an effort to identify an Act that comes out of your group discussions.  Our goal is to share your ideas with all of CFM, Saturday, following our meeting.

The Leader’s Meeting will start promptly at 7 p.m. via ZOOM (link to be sent separately) to get the Leader Couples to the host homes by 8 p.m. to start group meetings by 8:15.

At your earliest convenience, please let your group leaders know if you plan to attend Friday’s meeting.  It allows hosts to plan their hospitality in advance.

Father Rocky: Family Rosary Across America/The Beatitudes

January 11 at 7 PM, Father Rocky from Relevant Radio will live stream The Family Rosary Across America followed by a talk on family life and the Beatitudes.  How fortuitous!  Please join us if you can (see bulletin and WW for details).  Thank you, Sara and Joe Zimmermann!

CFM has been charged with planning a reception following the talk and rosary.  Please let us know if you wish to assist as usher/greeters and/or with reception set up/tear down.  Thank you to those who have already volunteered.

Special Opportunity: Each decade of the rosary corresponds to a special prayer request.  OLW has been offered three prayer requests for decades 3, 4, and 5.  The people that are selected for prayer requests will have special seating in front, on the aisle so that they can deliver their requests LIVE over the microphone.  If you are interested in submitting a prayer request, please send to by, January 7 at 3 PM, so that they can be compiled, selected and approved by parish leadership.

Donut & Coffee Hospitality After 9:30 Masses

Bravo to the Trunk group for offering hospitality to parishioners after THREE 9:30 masses.  If you’re comfortable doing so, it’s not too late for your group to jump in.  Thanks to Marlene Bowen who generously offered to prepare coffee early morning, hospitality is a snap.

Coffee & Donut Ministry: OLW Coffee & Donut Sign-ups (

OLW Coffee & Donut Sign-ups

This is the coffee & donut sign up for Our Lady of the Wayside. Please read the following carefully: At this time, we are focusing on the 9:30 mass and seeking individuals/couples or groups to volunteer to set-up and clean-up for the 9:30 mass.  We will make it a practice to ask families to help serve donuts after mass on-the-spot (similar to the ushers’ recruiting of families to bring up the gifts) if there are not families otherwise scheduled to do so.  Except for the case where your ministry has signed up to serve on a given Sunday, please do not sign up to serve donuts unless there is already someone signed up for set-up/clean-up. Similarly, anyone who has signed up as an individual for set-up/clean-up will be assumed to be signing up to do both unless they are a part of a group which has committed to “doing donuts” for that particular morning.  In addition, we do not necessarily expect that anyone who has signed up to set-up/clean-up will necessarily commit to setting-up and serving after the 7:30 mass

Group Action

The Pozdol group is scheduled to deliver food to Saint Marks, January 15.  It appears all collector positions have been filled and there is one driver needed, currently.  Please secure details from your group leader.

Light Weigh

We’d be remiss for not mentioning that our very own, Therese Graff, will be spearheading a new ministry at OLW.  Perfect timing.  Check it out:  Light Weigh Catholic Weight-loss is coming to Our Lady of the Wayside!
