Good Evening Wonderful CFM Members!
Thank you to all for participating in the Lasagna Dinner! It’s an annual favorite for CFM and a great way to meet the children of group members. Thank you to Deacon Pete and Jan LeTourneau for leading us in the para-liturgy. Thank you to the Sutter’s Group # 5 for all your hard work! Everyone did a fantastic job in the planning and execution of this treasured event!
Our next CFM Small Discussion Group Meeting is this coming Friday, October 4th at 7:30 p.m. The discussion will be on Chapter #2 “The Speck and The Log”. Your group leaders will contact you during the week to advise you of the location for Friday’s meeting. Please RSVP to your leaders, so that the host couple will know how many group members are able to join in the meeting. Thanks!
Looking ahead this week is the start of a 5-week Adult Formation series “Remain In Me”, developed by the Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Lifelong Formation and the Office of Divine Worship to support and encourage the love of the Eucharist and Eucharistic Adoration. Deacon Pete and Jan LeTourneau will be the facilitators. There are two meeting options to choose from; either meet on Tuesday, October 1st @ 9:30 a.m., or Wednesday October 2nd at 7:00 p.m. Both options take place in the Neumann Room. Deacon Pete and Jan circulated a hand-out of the dates and times of the five sessions at the Lasagna Dinner, the schedule was in the Wayside Wednesdays, and the OLW Bulletin. Your group leaders will also have a copy for you on Friday. We are looking forward to attending this opportunity for spiritual growth!
The Family Mass is October 6th at 9:30 a.m. in Church, followed by Faith-into-Action at 10:30 a.m. in the Middle School. Coffee and Donuts will be served in the Middle School hallway (outside the gym). Come join us!
On Friday, October 25th from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Jerry and Ronnie Brennan will be leading CFM Members in an evening exploring a form of family prayer known as The Couples Prayer, which is based on St. Ignatius of Loyola’s “Examen Prayer”, a form of prayer that involves talking to and listening to God. All CFM Members are welcome to come, including individual members as this method of prayer helps us in life, in family, friend, and co-worker relationships, and brings us closer to God. We will begin in Church and remain there for about an hour; then proceed to the Gathering Place for refreshments. We are excited about learning this method of prayer. Jerry and Ronnie have presented this type of evening when they were living in Michigan. Thanks, Jerry and Ronnie!
Take good care of yourselves! Have a Blessed week!
With love and prayers,
