ST. MARK’S FOOD PANTRY SUNDAY APRIL 19 – “DIVINE MERCY” SUNDAY

Posted on April 3, 2020 by Published by

On April 19 (the Sunday after Easter) we celebrate “Divine Mercy Sunday”, when we recognize the gift of salvation that Jesus obtains for all of us through His passion, death and resurrection. Jesus shows His love for us. He expects us to show our love for Him by our actions to those in need.

To answer His call, we will be having a Food Drive for St. Mark’s parish on that day. The St. Mark’s community has a great need for food as a result of layoffs and closings. Through no fault of their own, their need has grown. Also, they are the only food pantry in the area that is open, so they will truly be serving the whole community. While all staple goods are appreciated, they have a special need for beans and canned goods.

“Drop off” of food will be in the parking lot, next to the OLW garage (as usual) from 9AM to Noon. It will not be necessary for donors to get out of their car – just “pop” the trunk and the volunteers will take the bags out of the trunk.

We thank our volunteers – Don Piergalski and John Loy.

As Jesus shows His total love for us, this is our opportunity to show our love for our sisters and brothers in need.
